About Pete and racing:

Pete’s a 46 year old Company director who is truly passionate about motorsport. Having spent years watching “from the other side of the fence”, and a few years doing track days he took the plunge at the age of 44 and bought a Porsche 996 cup car.

After a few tests in the cup car, he entered the final round of the Porsche Open at Silverstone in 2009 and promptly put the car on class pole. This was then followed by three class wins in the same weekend. Not a bad start and now the bug had bitten, and bitten bad.

In 2010, Pete signed up for the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. This was a new series for Porsche in the UK, grids were slim but from day one he set out to win. Pete took multiple class wins inĀ  the year and won the series overall. Porsche presented him with a Cayman for the year and all was well.

In 2011 Pete again entered the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge but this time stepping up to class 1 in a 997 cup car. This was a big step and in hindsight, a lot more testing would have been a good idea. The year is best described as formative, the highlights being the Porsche World Cup at the Nurburgring and the final rounds at Silverstone where Pete took 2 fourth places and finally got his mojo back.

2012 will see Pete competing in GT3 cup challenge and GT Cup.

When he’s not racing:

Pete runs a management consultancy, Moorecroft Lee Ltd which specialises in helping automotive aftermarket companies. Pete has spent his entire working career in the automotive arena – he owned an automotive aftermarket equipment Company with two colleagues up until 2011 when they sold the Business. The sale has allowed him more time to spend racing!

Pete’s married with one son who is an avid snowboarder.
